About

Powered by information technologists with over 40 years experience in hardware and software solutions, Speak UP!® is an international company that provides schools an opportunity to prevent the abuse and bullying that takes place on and off the internet.

When students anonymously report incidents through the web or phone app, they are not only helping the innocent victims of bullying and cyberbullying but they are also empowering themselves by standing up for others and for themselves.

The App

How it works...

1A student—let’s call her Jamie—opens the app on her phone or tablet and reports what she has witnessed.

2Jamie attaches a photo of the incident (or a screenshot of a text or social media post). This part is optional.

3Jamie chooses to report the incident anonymously by checking the "Report anonymously" box.

4Jamie taps “Send” and the message is sent to an administrator at the university.

5The administrator views the report from the app’s dashboard and takes the appropriate measures.

Why it works...

Students can report an incident when:

starthey don't want other students to know they are reporting

starthey don't feel comfortable talking to an administrator

starthey don't know which administrator to talk to

starthere isn't an administrator available

starthey want to report the incident anonymously

And what's more...

The administrator's version of the app:

starkeeps a record of all incidents

starallows administrators to view important statistics that they can use to create a safer environment at the university
